Stock Market and Gold Investing with your Current Salary

There are many schools of thought when it comes to investing.  You have to decide which type of investor you want to be: one that holds onto their stocks and gold or if you will be an active trader that buys and sells regularly.  Before you begin to invest however, you need to gain some knowledge about the stock market and gold investing strategies.  This is especially true if you are using your current salaries as the funds. If your current salaries are not giving you the chance to invest in a 401K plan through your employer, that means you either have to hire a broker or learn how to invest yourself.

You can find literally hundreds of books on the subject of investing so that even a beginner can get the basics.  There are also a myriad of televisions shows devoted to giving you advice on how to invest in the stock market and buy gold.  As a matter of fact there are several networks that speak of nothing else but investing.  Watching these shows for a few months will give you some insight into the cycles of the stock market.

Tipping Monkey to discontinue services as of Dec 1, 2009

Dear all members, users, friends and foes of Tipping Monkey,

It is with strong emotions that I am writing to let everyone know that as of December 1, 2009, we will be officially discontinuing the Tipping Monkey service. The main reason for discontinuation is simply the fact that we have not been able to achieve the level of membership and traffic to sustain our operations, and with the proliferation of new competitors in the same space as ours, we just did not feel that it is sensible to maintain the manpower and financial commitment to continue operations for Tipping Monkey. It’s been a very, very tough decision indeed. I wanted to thank everyone who has been using our service, sending feedback, and supporting us in general! ...

New Feature: Exporting your portfolio to CSV format
22 Nov, 2009 15:27 PT

Dear members,

It's been a while since we added new features to Tipping Monkey. There have been a number of requests for exporting portfolio data to a user's own compute. So we decided to add that. In the Portfolio Balance Sheet page, you will now see an "Export Portfolio to CSV" link (see image below). Clicking that link will export that portfolio to your computer in CSV (comma-separated values) format. While this is not a very sophisticated format, it is a pretty standard format that many spreadsheets and applications recognize. We felt that should be good enough for most people.

Exporting to CSV

Once again, happy trading, but make sure to INVESTIGATE before you INVEST!

MOT was once the undisputed king of sexy design back in the RAZR glory days.  Stock should move up on speculation that the DROID is a huge sucess in Q4 '09 for the cell phone maker.  Short term play on the DROID hype.

GRMN: Google Kills All

Shorting any business that derives revenue from GPS.  Google/Android launching free GPS software via Google Maps on new handsets kills the business model.  Garmin and TomTom are dead.
